Verbarrator is an intensive Spanish verb training course, released in 2009 after three long years of development. We had a chance to check it out recently and we’re happy to report that getting to grips with those tricky Spanish verbs just became a whole lot easier. Verbarrator is truly an excellent supplementary course.

We say supplementary because it isn’t a full Spanish course. The materials covered here are strictly for learning verbs. But the course is developed in such a way that by simply mastering the basics here, you’ll turbo charge your Spanish studies in a way that scarce few other learning modules can boast.

So what is Verbarrator all about? How does it work?

The software comes in the form of a $57 download. It will run on both PC and Mac systems which is a welcome break from the many Windows-only learning apps. Once you’ve installed Verbarrator, opening the application will present you with a nice little interface listing verbs in both English and Spanish.

The Verbarrator course is designed to help with your verb conjugations, and the great thing is you can customize it to work at your own level. In total, there are 565 verbs to get to grips with. Learning all of them will rank you at the top of the tree as a master of the Spanish language, but there are a huge 20 tenses to learn too.

Many Spanish students are aware that verb conjugations are crucial to the language, and so are the various tenses. Verbarrator will drill you on every single verb, in every single tense, and it will do so in such a way that you’ll notice giant leaps in your knowledge of the language.

The software is automatically designed to teach you the most basic verbs first. Those necessary for the use of basic conversational Spanish. If you have very specific needs – Verbarrator is completely 100% customizable. You can select which type of Spanish verbs and which tenses you want to study. The software will first introduce you to the verbs on their own. But once you’re more comfortable, it will show you how to use them in context.

We have to praise the efficiency in which Verbarrator gets the job done. This is a wonderful course for tackling one of the most challenging aspects of the Spanish language. You could conquer it in as little as a fortnight if you put your mind to the task.

All skill levers are catered for. Each Spanish verb comes with an English description. Full audio is provided for both languages. Watch as your Spanish progresses at a lightening rate and then test yourself with the full “immersion course”. Verbarrator is the perfect learning suite for those who’ve been struggling with their Spanish verbs. You can watch a video demonstration and grab it now from the Verbarrator website for just $57. An excellent buy.

Another useful little product for Spanish verb learning is Conjumania. The product is free but comes with limitations and far less verbs are included.

If you’ve had your ears to the ground lately – or indeed your eyes glued to the television set – you may have noticed several advertisements for a new online language learning course. Onlingo has spent a lot of money reaching out to Americans with the message that it’s never been easier to learn a new language.

Onlingo is a company dedicated to distance language learning, particularly for those who travel regularly or have busy schedules that require a flexible learning program.

The idea of the Onlingo course is that you should be able to study anywhere, at any time. The lessons are divided in to digestible segments. The team claim that by following a rigorous pattern, you should be able to learn a language to a functional level within seven days.

We somewhat doubt the accuracy of those claims. Seven days to learn a language is a huge ask, and even if you’re naturally gifted, it’s expecting a lot to be able to learn the complexities of an entire language is such a short space of time.

Onlingo are adamant though. So adamant that they’re willing to offer you a free trial to see for sure. Simply process your details on their website and they will send you a free sample of the course materials. It’s a nice touch, and good for those who remain on the fence. But do make sure to read the terms and conditions regarding the free trial process as failing to cancel in the event that you’re not satisfied will result in you being charged for the next month’s worth of lessons.

Time will tell whether Onlingo sees the same level of success as some of the other courses we’ve documented on this site. If you’re looking for the best value deal, we would recommend you check out our course reviews section.

There will be several posts over the coming weeks and we will look more closely at what Onlingo offers. If you’re interested in trying the program for free, head on over to the Onlingo website to sign up for your free trial.

Please note, the Onlingo course is only open to residents in the United States.

We’ve got some exciting news that is going to see the Know Your Languages brand really take off over the next couple of months.

As some of you may be aware, we’ve established several sites linking people to language courses online. It started with Know Your Spanish, was followed by Know Your Italian and the most recent site was Know Your Japanese. These sites have provided excellent courses for language students for over 2 years now.

However, we’ve decided to merge our language sites together in to one resource – hence the relaunch of Know Your Languages. You can now find all of the resources from our three mainstream language learning sites over the course of these pages.

That’s great news for people who hadn’t heard of other language sites. But the best news is that we will be rapidly expanding the Know Your Languages brand to cover fresh and exciting ground.

We currently have experts hand-crafting content for a series of new language resources – French, Chinese and even Arabic.

These new resources will provide even more quality content as we continue our goal of making it possible for anybody to lean the language of their choice online. Check out the new site – and check back often for updates.

We will be rolling out new packed resources over the coming weeks.

Thank you for your continued support over the last two years. Myself, and the entire tean, very much appreciate your regular feedback.
