Why Learn Spanish?

Why learn a second language at all?

You wouldn’t be the first person to ask these questions. But you’d probably be surprised to see just how many have gone on to thank the fact that they did. There are many reasons to learn Spanish, and unfortunately for those of us who require a little inspiration to follow our ambitions – there are many excuses for not bothering.

“I’m too old to learn another language!”

“My memory’s like a goldfish using my OWN language! What chance with another?”

“I’d love to but I’m too busy paying the bills.”

All legitimate reasons why one might turn away from studying a new language. The thought of reading endless books, listening to a hundred monotonous tapes and trying to decypher what those native speakers are talking about, it can be a bit disenchanting if we’re being honest.

But to truly appreciate the experience of language, it’s important to remember what we have to gain from it.
